Perfect for those wishing to see more of the amazing archaeological sites and natural wonders Jordan offers.

This itinerary includes sites rarely visited such as the ruins at Umm Qais and Pella in the north of the country and the opportunity to camp and hike in the desert.

The tour can be customised to your preferences, for example if you would prefer not to rough camp then we can change it so that you can stay in a camp with facilities. If you wish to add more historical and religious sites we can advise on the best route to take.

Please note that Wadi Arabah and Wadi Hisa may not available at certain times of the year due to weather conditions, alternative locations will be advised.

It is advisable to book as far in advance as possible to secure accommodation especially in Petra.

Itinerary

What follows is a general flow of events.

Day 1

Upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) you will be met by a representative from Jordan Unlimited. You will then be transferred to your hotel of choice and helped with check in.

Day 2

After breakfast your driver and guide will be waiting to take you on your tour of Amman which includes visiting The Citadel and the Roman Theatre followed by a walking tour of Downtown Amman for shopping. Continue to Rainbow Street for lunch and then onto the Jordan Museum before returning to your hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast you will journey to Jerash to see one of most well preserved sites of Roman Architecture outside of Italy. Next onto Ajlun for the medieval fortress and views over the Jordan Valley.

Transfer to the Ajlun Nature Reserve for overnight stay.

Day 4

After breakfast travel to the hill top city of Umm Qais previously known as Gadara to see the black basalt ruins. Take in the amazing view over the Syrian Golan Heights, Mount Hermon, Lake Tiberias and the north Palestinian plains.

Travel south stopping at Pella, a large archaeological site where you can explore the ruins of churches and houses from the Byzantine era.

Continue to your hotel at the Dead Sea.

Day 5

A free day to relax and bathe in the Dead Sea.

Day 6

After breakfast continue to travel south detouring for an exhilarating trip to Wadi al Hisa. After lunch, travel to Wadi Arabah for an overnight camping experience in the desert.

Day 7

After a camp breakfast, have fun wadi bashing before travelling south for a local Bedouin lunch and a visit to Little Petra.

Day 8

Early morning breakfast and guided visit to The Red Rose city of Petra. You have the option to hike into the city from Little Petra (your luggage will be transferred to your hotel in Wadi Musa).

Return to the hotel with the option to do the Petra By Night tour or have dinner in the town followed by shisha and coffee.

Day 9

Morning visit to Petra with lunch followed by a visit to Shobak Castle.

Day 10

After breakfast travel the Kings Highway to Wadi Rum. On arrival you will be taken on a private jeep tour before going to your camp for sunset drinks and a traditional Jordanian meal under the stars.

Day 11&12

Early start with a camel ride to see the sunrise over the desert.

After a leisurely breakfast 4 x 4 drive through Wadi Rum to meet your driver for the short journey to Aqaba.

Relax at your hotel overlooking the Red Sea until it is time to go on a Sunset cruise with snorkeling and BBQ dinner onboard.

Day 13

After breakfast, start the journey north via the Kings Highway stopping at Karak to see one of the largest Crusader castles in the Levant, drive through the stunning scenery of Wadi al Mujib to Mount Nebo where God showed Moses the Promised Land.

Continue north stopping at Madaba to see the Mosaic Map of the Holy Land at St George’s Church, visit the Mosaic Museum and the Archaeological Park, which houses the remains of several Byzantine churches, including the amazing mosaics of the Church of the Virgin.

Arrive at Al Salt, Jordan’s newest World Heritage Site to see the unique architectural houses seen nowhere else.

Transfer to the airport for flight home.
